We offer a range of adapters, for both Compact Flash (CF) cards and mini-PCI cards.
Our CF adapters allow you to connect a Compact Flash card to an IDE interface in your PC. The CF device will then appear as a normal disk drive to your operating system.
Our miniPCI to PCI adapter allows you to mount a miniPCI card in a normal PCI slot, which means that you can use a wide range of miniPCI cards in a regular PC.
Direct connection
The FDD direct (right-angle) and FDD direct (straight) CF to IDE adapters plug directly into the motherboard via a 40-pin IDE connector and take their power from a floppy disk drive power plug.
They suit both Compact Flash Type I and Type II cards.
The terms 'right-angle' and 'straight' refer to the plug on the adapter, such that the right angle adapter stands up perpendicular relative to the motherboard, as below:
and the straight adapter lies flat on (or parallel to) the motherboard, as below:
Cable connection
The FDD power (cable) and HDD power (cable) CF to IDE adapters plug into the 40-pin connector on the motherboard via a normal IDE cable (not supplied).
This allows you to mount the adapter and associated CF card in a convenient location.
They take their power from either a floppy disk drive power connector or a hard drive power connector.
These adapters suit both Compact Flash Type I and Type II cards.
2.5" drive adapter
This 2.5" CF to IDE adapter allows you to connect a Compact Flash (CF) card to the 2.5" 44-pin IDE interface in your laptop drive tray, using a 44-wire IDE ribbon cable (not supplied).
Power is taken from the 2.5" drive connector.
It suits both Compact Flash Type I and Type II cards.
